AMA not recommending travel

The Alberta Motor Association has issued a highway alert.
With up to 20 centimetres of snow expected into Thursday evening, it’s asking motorists in southern and central Alberta who do not have to travel to please stay off highways.
Kent Dixon tells 660News this is when drivers need to pay attention to the task of driving.
He says too many of us are talking on our cell phones and doing other things in our vehicle instead of concentrating on the road.
Dixon adds, if you do have to venture out, make sure you have a fully-charged cell phone with you in case of an emergency.
RCMP are not recommending travel on the Queen Elizabeth II Highway because of poor visibility, drifting snow and snow-covered lanes.
