Calgary’s Brett Wilson is excited about the upcoming World Cup.
The prominent businessman and star of CBC’s Dragon’s Den says he understands intensely why it’s so important to billions of people around the world.
He says it’s because it is a game that can be played anywhere by anyone.
“It’s done barefoot in parts of Africa and it’s done in rubber boots in Vancouver and in winter boots in Saskatchewan,” he says.
He’s a part owner of the English premiership team, Derby County so his love of soccer can’t really be questioned.
Wilson won’t pick an overall winner, but he says England has one of the stronger teams he’s seen in sometime.
He also believes the United States may be a sleeper team to watch.
