The made in Calgary youth hockey partnership between the Calgary Police Service and Hockey Canada is out with a promotional video and song.
The video will be shown to Calgary’s youth new to the country as a way to promote the Power Play Program. The song was composed by two local Calgarians.
Titled “Something New”, the song was composed by 18-year-old Ishag Ahmed, an immigrant from Sudan and 29-year-old Leora Raivich, a vocal instructor who proudly represents her Jewish roots.
The program teams sees the two groups team up as a way to connect with youth who may not have been exposed to hockey.
