Alleged hostage taker representing himself

The man accused of taking nine people hostage at the Workers Compensation Board office in Edmonton plans to represent himself in court.

Patrick Clayton, who was out of work because of injuries, was living on compensation board payments that were cut off.

He faces numerous charges of unlawful confinement and pointing a firearm from the incident last October.

Clayton fired another lawyer Monday, saying his instructions were not being followed.

His trial is scheduled to start July 30th.
