School is not out for everyone

Classes continue for the nearly 4000 students that are enrolled in Calgary Board of Education Summer school.

That number is actually up 14 per cent from last year.

System principal John Fischer tells The Calgary Sun that these classes allow students to focus because there are less distractions.

One-hundred-thirty-eight teachers are staffed at the four locations. They are working on top of their annual contracts which expired in June.

Fischer adds that this is good news for teachers looking for extra work, especially since the CBE announced job cuts earlier this year.
