Premier Ed Stelmach is not impressed with the hundreds of thousands of dollars in bonuses handed out to Alberta Health Services executives.
He says changes may have to be made to the executive pay structure and has asked the health minister to conduct a review.
“It’s a time where we have to look at a different model to reimburse CEO’s, especially of public authorities,” said Stelmach.
He says the public sector should be willing to cut their pay like MLA’s have done.
Stelmach says Dr. Stephen Duckett’s salary, even with the bonus, is less than other CEO’s in the health industry across the country.
