It may be a miserable day out there but that didn’t stop thousands of visitors to the Stampede from getting their ‘yeehaw’ on.
660News made the rounds at the grounds to talk to some hardy souls who refused to let the weather get in the way of a good time.
As he sloshed around the Midway in a pair of boots that somehow filled with rainwater, 660’s Dave Will saw a mom walk by with two young toddlers in tow and he wondered, “How much fun could that be?”
Instead, she surprised him.
“I actually prefer the rain instead of the heat, it works for me,” she said.
Will pressed on through the miserable conditions and watched her little ones line up for mini-donuts, hoodies tightened round’ their rosy cheeks and he thought, “They must be heading home soon!”
But no!
The rain-loving mom told him that nothing could make the Stampede feel bad.
It was more proof that it can rain all it wants but, for some, nothing can dampen their Stampede spirit.
