2010 Alberta Summer Games begin

The 2010 Alberta Summer Games kick off Monday.

Athletes at the games in and around Peace River will compete in 15 sports including baseball, beach volleyball, inline hockey and rugby.

The games are being run by nearly 2,000 volunteers.

Chairman Dave Van Tamelen tells 660 News it’s a huge undertaking involving cooperation with several communities.

Van Tamelen says athletes who do well at these Games could go on to represent Canada on the world stage.
