Barb Higgins for mayor chatter continues

Calgary is still a-buzz more than 24 hours after Barb Higgins stepped down from her CTV anchoring post and rumours are now rampant that she’s throwing her hat into the mayoral ring.

Some feel she may not have enough political experience, but political scientist Lori Williams tells 660News, Higgins has done a very good job of covering issues that haven’t been adequately addressed by city hall.

Williams adds that although Higgins doesn’t have mayoralty or aldermanic experience, she is very well-versed in Calgary politics.

If she runs, Higgins would be the 12th candidate on the ballot and the first woman.
