It could be a full house at council chambers Monday, as residents of Manchester, Parkhill and Stanley Park try to stop a halfway house from coming into their neighbourhood.
Residents will be wearing pins that say “Do the right thing” in hopes that council will shut down the proposed new location of the John Howard Society’s Bedford House.
The society has filed a re-zoning application for the site near Stanley Park and MacLeod Trail, because their current house in Victoria Park is getting levelled so the Stampede grounds can expand. City administration is recommending that council approve it.
