Canada’s public finance watchdog is coming under scrutiny itself for money it spent.
The Calgary Sun reports the auditor general’s office spent nearly half a million dollars last year on training seminars for its staff.
Those seminars don’t appear to have much to do with keeping watch over how taxpayer money is spent.
Expense reports show employees wrote off courses on Roman civilization, anthropology and studies of Karl Marx, the father of modern communism.
The auditor general’s office hasn’t provided any immediate comment in reaction.
