Catholic school ban on gambling fundraisers

The biggest source of fundraising cash for Catholic schools is now gone.

Volunteering for bingo halls or casinos is no longer an option for parents looking to get more money for Catholic school programs and improvements.

The Catholic board officially passed the ban in March, but is just now going into full effect.

The past president of the Parent’s Association at Bishop Grandin High School tells The Calgary Herald it’s left them looking for new ways to make up the cash, but they’re confident they’ll find a way.
