Thousands marched to the beat of a Scottish drum Saturday at the 2010 Calgary Highland Games.

Various events included highland dance competitions, epic fencing demonstrations and the throwing of weights, just to name a few.

Lois Wallace is from Dayton, Nevada and tells 660News, she’s impressed with Calgary’s event and plans to return and host her clan gathering here in 2012.

This year’s event took place at Springbank Park just outside the city.

The first Calgary Highland Games were held in 1913.
