Long-gun registry likely staying put

It’s looking more and more like the Harper government may lose its battle to kill the controversial national long-gun registry.

Leaders of both the NDP and Liberal parties say they’ve got support from their MPs to kill the Tory bill.

In the meantime, the Canadian Association of Police Boards has declared Wednesday a national day in support of the registry.

An Ontario crime prevention council says they fully back the move.

They say not only police, but doctors and emergency workers have also come out in support of the registry.
