Edmonton Police have been cleared of any wrongdoing for shooting and killing a woman holding a toy gun.
The government body that investigates police-involved shootings says officers had no choice but to shoot her.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team found even though the gun was a toy, it looked very real at the time.
ASIRT’s director says police were justified in seeing the 48-year-old woman as a threat when she brandished the toy at officers and people living in her building in January.
