The first leg of the Calgary Greenway is nearly finished
The section of the pathway that will circle the city over the coming years is open between Airport Trail and Elliston Park at 17th Avenue S.E.
Myrna Dube with Parks Foundation Calgary tells 660News, though they won’t have the extras on it until spring, Calgarians can hop on the pathway right now.
The Foundation is working with developers on all sides of the city to include the pathway through new communities so that they eventually will all connect.
Dube says they’ve also enlisted the help of Calgary philanthropist Jim Davidson to chair a major fundraising campaign for the pathway.
The target is $24-million of the estimated $50-million it will take to complete the Greenway.
