Charges laid after N.E. home invasion

Calgary police have laid charges after a home invasion in the city’s northeast Friday night.

Three men broke into a house in the 100 block of Carmel Close, threatening the three people inside and assaulting one.

Now Julius Person Wheyee is facing charges of use of a firearm, break and enter, robbery and forcible confinement.

Police say the 23-year-old is known to them and has breached a number of his release conditions.

Charges are pending against a second man who is in hospital. Police are still looking for a third man.

Investigators are hoping to determine if Friday’s home invasion is related to one or both, of the other two home invasions that occurred Friday.
