Funeral plans for the city’s latest murder victim are being made.

Friends and family of Mark Mariani will lay him to rest on Wednesday at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in the northeast.

Mariani, 47, was found dead in a parking lot near North Hill shopping centre on 16th ave.

Police have not released how he was killed and have not made any arrests.

Mariani suffered from crohns disease, but had surgery scheduled on October 26th.

His mother tells the Sun he hoped to beat the illness and someday have a family.

About 600 people are expected at the service.

Mariani was the city’s 12th homicide of 2010.
