Man who injected another with HIV to stay behind bars

A Calgary man that tortured and injected a murder witness with HIV is staying in jail.

Most offenders are allowed to serve the final third of their sentence out in the community.

But the Parole Board of Canada says 31-year-old Travis Erskine is still too dangerous to be released.

He’s currently serving a 10-year sentence for several offences, mostly linked to the torture of Darin Davies in 2004.

Erskine thought Davies had spoken to police about a murder investigation Erskine was said to have been involved in, according to The Calgary Herald.
