A kitchen fire in a north east apartment building has left one woman with burns to her upper body.
A pot of oil she had been cooking with ignited into flames Monday afternoon. She tried to put it out with a fire extinguisher but burned her arm and chest in the process.
The fire department credits the woman’s fast actions with the containment of the fire in the 3800 block of Marlborough Drive.
Damage to the kitchen and apartment is pegged at $10,000.
