Friends planning a fundraiser to help a former Calgary school teacher achieve her dreams as a triathlete have changed their focus.
Janelle Morrison was on her way to Calgary from her new home in Penticton on Sunday when a minivan crossed the centre line and hit her vehicle near Revelstoke.
The 33-year-old is now in a medically induced coma.
Organizers of the fundraiser tell The Calgary Sun they now plan to use money raised to help with Morrison’s recovery.
A spin-a-thon is happening Saturday at Eau Claire market, followed by a silent auction at Spur Gastro-Pub.
