The city’s tastiest secret is now out.
Bernard Callebaut has named his new chocolate business “Papa Chocolat.”
The Calgary-based chocolatier lost the company bearing his name during receivership proceedings in October, but managed to raise enough money to start again.
Callebaut tells 660News he wanted to pick a name that reminds people that his business is a family business and “Papa Chocolat” fit the bill because his kids call him “papa.”
Callebaut says he already has plenty of holiday orders and because he’s just starting out again, it will be difficult to fill them all.
“We have very little time to prepare, so we will do our best,” he says. “We will make as many chocolates as we can, I will promise to sleep as little as I can.”
He says he plans to open two Calgary retail locations by March, but if people want some yummy chocolate from him before then, they’ll have to call him.
