Albertans biggest Christmas spenders

Albertans shell out more money for Christmas than anyone else in Canada.

According to a Scotiabank survey, people in this province plan to spend $1,388 on gifts and entertaining by the time the holiday season is over.

That’s more than $400 more than the national average of $968.

Economists at Scotiabank say Alberta’s rebounding energy industry can be credited for all the extra Christmas cash people here have in their pockets.
