Public-Private Partnerships possible answer to recreational facility shortage?

This week city council is going to revisit the idea of striking public-private partnerships as a way to address Calgary’s recreation facility shortage.
People living in many outlying communities are anxiously awaiting the construction or pools, rinks and gym’s.
The Herald reports the partnerships would be one way to fast track construction.
However the Chair of the Finance Committee Alderman Gord Lowe says while public -private partnerships look great, they could leave the city on the hook for some big operation costs down the road.
