Poor driving conditions and avalanche warnings have led to several closures along the Trans Canada Highway west of the city.

Omar Mcdadi Communications Officer with Parks Canada tells 660News, several people have described the roads as treacherous.

Some of the affected areas include the Trans Canada Highway from Field, B.C. which is closed up to Golden, B.C. until Saturday morning at the earliest.

Highway 93 North from Lake Louise to Jasper is closed and will not re-open until at least Saturday afternoon.

Anyone headed out is reminded to check with AMA Roads ahead of time and keep listening to 660News for traffic updates on the ones.
