Minor Hockey Week kicks off

The next week will be a busy one for Calgary’s hockey moms and dads.
Esso Minor Hockey Week kicks off Friday.
Almost 12,000 young players, 2,400 coaches and more than 4,000 volunteers will hit the city’s rinks for nearly 1,000 games.
There’s a little more ice this year for teams to play on though, easing some of the crunch.
The new rinks include a new complex at Canada Olympic Park and a recently opened surface at the Flames Community Arenas.
