AMA grades area hotels and restaurants

The Alberta Motor Association has unveiled its annual list of the best restaurants and hotels in our province.
But there’s not much change at the top. For the seventh year in a row, the Eden Restaurant at the Rimrock Resort Hotel in Banff is tops according to the AMA.
Catch Dining Room and the Hyatt Regency are among seven Calgary properties on this year’s list.
“We have the Calgary Marriot Hotel and the Hotel le Germain,” says Nikola Berube, the AMA Director of Sales, referring to other Calgary hotels and eateries that fared well in the survey. “We also have the Hyatt Regency, Sheraton Suites, Calgary Eau Claire, the Fairmont Palliser and The Westin Calgary. And then for our four diamond restaurants in Calgary, we have the Catch Dining Room, Il Sogno and La Chaumiere Restaurant.”
It’s no small feat making the list.
“Twelve critical services areas and over 300 guest interaction points are measured,” Berube tells 660News. “And as they reach more and more of those levels of acceptability, it increases their rate of getting a four or five diamond category.”
As for the best of the best, the Eden Restaurant in Banff won five diamonds from the AMA for a seventh consecutive year.
