You and your money!

Smart people aren’t always intelligent when it comes to finances.
It’s something Canadian author Bruce Sellery has noticed, and one of the subjects he tackles in his new book “Moolala.”
“I run into people all the time who have good jobs, who raise kids, who are contributors to society, and yet they do dumb things with their money with alarming regularity,” Sellery tells 660News.
Moolala isn’t just a book, it’s also a personal finance training tutorial. And according to Sellery, a great place to start is with a single question.
“Most of us haven’t answered the question, ‘What money is for?'” says Sellery. “We don’t have a context for it.”
Besides asking a simple question, Sellery says Canadians need to stop thinking that talking about their finances is a taboo topic.
“You get people talking about money and talking about their goals, and our friends and family can provide three things: support, ideas and accountability,” adds Sellery. “They make sure we follow up on it. We’re not just yapping about it.”
Sellery says Moolala’s aim is to inspire people so they can live the life they want.
