The man who unknowingly rescued his own son from a dumpster says his custody battle is being delayed by a long police investigation.
Last October, people living in the northwest community of Highland Park heard the newborn cry out and a man pulled him out of the dumpster.
That man later found out his girlfriend was pregnant. She’s accused of putting the baby boy in the dumpster.
The infant is in provincial custody as the investigation continues.
The 28-year-old father tells The Calgary Sun he’s no longer with the mother and would take a lie detector test if it meant he could take his son home.
