The head of Suncor isn’t optimistic North American crude demand will go up any time soon.
Rick George told analysts gathered on a conference call Wednesday that world oil demand is going up because of increasing need in emerging economies like China, India and Brazil, not because North American markets are getting any better.
He says that’s why it doesn’t make financial sense for Suncor to put up money right now for a refinery BP is currently selling.
