Gary Holden’s golden handshake has been unveiled.
The former CEO of Enmax is getting more than $4.6 million from the city owned utility after he resigned last month amid controversy over a trip he received to Monaco from a supplier.
Enmax says the package is in line with Holden’s contract and was made by the Enmax Board of Directors.
Mayor Nenshi says he understand the obligations of such a contract, but wonders if the contract was appropriate in the first place.
He says council will be meeting with the board of directors this month and executive and board compensation, along with governance practices, will be at the top of the agenda.
