Winners declared in Super Bowl ad contest

Some of the top honourees from a Super Bowl commercial contest include a pint-sized Darth Vader, a guy who would stop at nothing to lick Dorito cheese and dogs in bow ties serving beer.

They’re the winners in the Super Bowl Sunday branding battle and are some of the top spots that people just can’t stop talking about.

One of the commercials that garnered much of the online buzz was Bridgestone’s “Reply All” ad.

It shows the lengths one man went to, to get an e-mail back, after accidentally hitting “Reply All,” instead of “Reply.”

According to digital ad agency Zeta, it gained 94 per cent positive buzz in social media chatter.

Not far behind was the humourous Pepsi Max “First Date” commercial.

The Doritos ad didn’t fare well in the online buzz, but scored big in gross-out appeal with one man’s efforts to stop at nothing to lick cheese from the fingers of his co-workers and even their pants.

Bud Light’s commercial is said to be another highlight of the evening.

Featuring several dogs in bow ties serving beer, they prove canines really are man’s best friend.

One of the most talked-about ads is Volkswagen’s 60-second spot about a pint-sized Darth Vader.

The junior dark lord’s attempt to start his father’s sedan with “The Force” is stealing the hearts of thousands, without him even having to say a word.
