Snowboarders face charges after surviving avalanche

Two snowboarders, lucky to survive an avalanche, are now facing trespassing charges.

The 25-year-olds, one from Calgary, the other from Ontario, were in a closed area of Sunshine Village when they triggered the slide Monday.

A resort spokesman says the pair had to cross under two separate ropes to get to the area.

He also says one of the snowboarders gave a false identity and the other was using someone else’s pass to get onto the mountain.
