Calgary Libyans gather at city hall

On Saturday afternoon, over 50 people gathered at city hall to protest the violence in Libya.
The Associated Press reports that 15 people were killed when commandos opened fire on mourners leaving a funeral for protesters seeking Moammar Gadhafi’s ouster.
Protesters in Calgary, held a united front and are outraged at the violence, terrified for family members stuck in Libya and are calling to an end to Moammar Gadhafi’s 42-year reign.
One man tells 660News, “We are against the regime that’s in Libya, we are against killing people on the street. We are trying to do whatever we can do”
While this man says, “People are demonstrating peacefully and they just want their freedom. Libya doesn’t have a constitution, Libya doesn’t have any free media, Libya doesn’t have anything.”
Many are calling it the “Egypt Effect” and say watching Hosni Mubarak step down allows them to be hopeful that Moammar Gadhafi will follow.
