The Heritage Classic is in the history books, and what a game it was!
A crowd of 41,022 put up with the chilly temperatures to take in the game, and many say they’d do it all over again if given the opportunity!
In the end, the Flames beat Montreal 4-0, backed up by a 39 save performance by goalie Miikka Kiprusoff.
Rene Bourque scored two goals in the contest, making the Flames just the second home team in the N.H.L’s six outdoor games to get a win.
NHL Comissioner Gary Bettman says both teams “really enjoyed the experience” and that the game was a big investment that “paid off tremendously”.
