Parents in Calgary are not buying into a new study out of the University of Waterloo.
A researcher at the Ontario school says parents overstate the joys of raising children to justify how much time and money they’re spending on their kids.
660News caught up with Rob, a Calgary Dad who loses a lot of sleep due to cries in the middle of the night from his three-month-old. Still, he says the study results sound a little harsh.
“In time, you forget different things but overall I’ve never heard anyone exaggerate,” he says. “We all have our ups and downs.”
But Catherine, who is not a parent, thinks the results sound pretty accurate and says the decision to become a parent is a choice that people have to live with.
She says some parents don’t always think through the decision to have kids before taking the big leap.
