City planners want to see more traffic circles in Calgary.
A new plan would see new communities build more roundabouts instead of four-way stops and traffic lights.
That’s because of data that says traffic circles reduce collisions, are less expensive to put in than stoplights and help traffic to flow more smoothly.
If council approves the report, some existing interchanges will be retrofitted with roundabouts as well.
Calgary currently has about 40 traffic circles.
