A city alderman wants to shovel more money into the snow removal budget.
Andre Chabot says the one-time injection of $11-million extra in this season’s budget should become a permanent fixture.
He tells The Calgary Sun no one wants to pay more in taxes, but they also may not want to lose the improved service they’ve seen this winter.
A $10-million annual bump up in the snow clearing plan would eat up one per cent of the city’s overall budget.
