Trial for Calgary couple continues

Testimony continued on Tuesday at the trial for a Calgary couple charged with first degree murder in the death of a Calgary senior.

36-year old Jason Hubler and his wife, 31-year old Tosha Hubler are charged in the death of 77-year old Ray Johnson, whose body was found stuffed in a trunk in an alley in Ramsay in January of 2009.

The testimony focused on an alleged use of a taser in Johnson’s death.

Family friend Peter Hughes claiming he had no knowledge of ever being told about a taser by either defendant.

According to the Herald, Hughes did recall seeing the trunk in two different homes lived in by the Hublers and that Jason Hubler showed up at his home with a new truck, later discovered to be previously owned by the victim.

He also recalled being told by the defendants that they thought they may have hit somebody with their car in the area the body was found.

The trial at Court of Queen’s Bench will resume on Wednesday.
