National inflation rate drops

There has been another drop in Canada’s inflation rate.
Statistics Canada says the national inflation rate last month was 2.2 per cent — down a tenth of a point from January.
There was a similar drop the month before.
Energy prices, particularly the cost of gasoline, contributed to keeping inflation above the Bank of Canada’s ideal two per cent level.
In Calgary the rate edged up to 1.1 per cent from 0.7 per cent the month before.
Alberta is seeing an inflation rate of 1.2 per cent up from one per cent in January.
