The federal finance minister will go straight from the pressure-cooker on Parliament Hill Friday, to a major international meeting in Calgary starting in the evening.

In the midst of the historic development in Ottawa, Jim Flaherty is hosting a gathering of finance ministers of the Americas and Caribbean.

There’s a photo op and then a working dinner Friday night at Heritage Park.

They really get down to work Saturday morning.
