Quebec E. coli death may be linked to contaminated walnuts: report

One person in Quebec has died of E. coli infection that they may have contracted after eating contaminated walnuts, according to a CBC News report, Thursday.

Thirteen cases of E. coli have been linked to contaminated walnuts sold Canada-wide by Amira Enterprises, Inc.

The nuts were sold this year and may be contaminated with the same strain of E. coli that killed seven people in Walkerton, Ont., 11 years ago.

Nine people have been hospitalized.
