Highschool grad season is looming and girls are heading out searching for the perfect dress.
With expenses piling up, Marlborough Mall is making a very affordable option available to girls gearing up for the big day.
The 4th annual “GownTown” event takes place Sunday from 10am-noon and allows girls to purchase gently used party dresses for just ten dollars.
Kim Wiltse with the mall says proceeds are going to the Boys and Girls Club of Calgary.
She tells 660News the fundraiser has become more and more popular.
“We had a lineup that started about two hours prior to the event last year and the girls were eyeing them up to the window.”
She says the aim is to make girls feel like princesses.
“We have about 150-200 dresses this year and they are just beautiful.”
Shoppers need to provide a current student ID to enter and it’s cash only.
