A Calgary alderman is asking for a permanent snow clearing fund.
Andre Chabot, who leads city hall’s transportation committee, is trying to drum up a surplus fund to deal with the city’s constantly changing road conditions.
A citizen’s survey shows Calgarians were pleased with how the city dealt with the snow this year and Chabot tells the Calgary Sun, extra money is needed to deal with the elements in harsh winters like this one.
He admits the cash won’t be necessary every winter, but at least the city could tuck it away for another day.
