Cab plows through downtown cafe

Calgary police are trying to figure out how a taxi cab ended up inside a cafe late Saturday evening.
Calgary firefighters and their heavy rescue team were called to the business on the corner of 5th Avenue and 8th Street S.W. shortly after 9:00 p.m.
The cab drove into the building through part of a wall and a window, eventually stopping inside.
Luckily, the cafe was not open and there were no passengers in the taxi, however damage to the building is extensive.
Firefighters had to use winch cables and jacks to remove the vehicle from the building.
The driver of the taxi was treated at the scene and transported to hospital by EMS.
