Hiker’s body found

Rescuers have found the body of a Calgary man who slipped into the water at Elbow Falls near Bragg Creek on the weekend.

The 21-year-old hiker was out with friends walking over a piece of ice that spanned over the river, when he slipped and fell into the frigid water.

His body was discovered early Monday about 500 metres from where he fell in.

Friends say he had moved from Ethiopia to Canada and he was a straight-A student.

Two other men were treated for mild hypothermia.
