Former energy minister makes a run for premier

Former Alberta Energy Minister Rick Orman is making a run for the province’s top job.

Orman is expected to announce Wednesday that he’ll become the sixth candidate in the race to replace Premier Ed Stelmach.

It will be the second shot at the top job for the 62-year-old Calgary businessman, who currently works in the oil and gas sector.

He lost the 1992 Progressive Conservative party leadership race, coming in third behind Nancy Betkowski and winner Ralph Klein.
