Driver boots it after running over officer’s foot

A Calgary police officer has a sore foot — a 28-year-old woman is facing charges — after a bizarre incident, Friday evening, in the city’s southwest.
Around 7:30 pm on Elbow Drive, police found a woman slumped over the steering wheel of a van. She was asked to get out of the vehicle, but instead threw the van in reverse.
The officer tried to reach in and stop her, but in the procees his foot was run over.
She fled the scene before dumping the vehicle at Marlborough Mall in the northeast.
According to the Calgary Herald, she was arrested following — ironically — a short chase on foot.
The officer wasn’t seriously injured and didn’t require immediate attention.
