Gunshot victim found near Calgary

A man is in hospital after being found with a gunshot wound just outside Calgary.

RCMP from Chestermere and Strathmore responded along with Calgary police to reports of a shooting around 11:30 Friday night.

It happened in the area of Garden Road just east of 84th Street.

They found the 22-year-old victim outside his vehicle about one kilometre north of the Trans Canada highway.

After being treated on scene by paramedics, he was rushed to hospital in serious but stable condition.

Investigators are waiting until he’s well enough to try to determine what happened.

There are no suspects so far.
