New fire hall badly needed

Ground has been broken on a new fire hall for Southeast Calgary, and according to the chief, station number 39 can’t come soon enough.

Bruce Burrell says an analysis map, that outline his department’s ability to provide service to citizens, shows a huge hole in the Douglasdale and Shepard regions.

The station is slated to be up and running in 18 months.

It will serve nearly 57-thousand people and will also house Calgary’s first ever investigation bay, a resource badly needed by arson investigators.
